GMADA Land Acquisition List: Village Notices, Awards & How to Check Your Land Status
Ek WhatsApp forward aata hai: “Aapke gaon ka naam GMADA ki list mein aa gaya hai.” Ghabrahat shuru ho jati hai. Lekin village ka naam aana aur aapki khasra land acquire hona, do alag baatein hain.
This guide shows how to read GMADA’s village-wise acquisition notices, what each stage means, and how to check your own parcel using official records. The GMADA land acquisition list below is built only from entries we could trace to GMADA’s own notice listings. Anything we could not confirm is marked that way.
To check whether your land is affected, note your village and khasra numbers, open GMADA’s official notifications and Land Owners pages, find the original notice PDF, and match village, project and khasra details. Then look for later declarations, corrigenda and awards. Village name alone cannot confirm your parcel; get written confirmation from the competent authority.

GMADA Land Acquisition: Notice Aane Ka Matlab Kya Hai?
A proposal, a notification, an award and possession are four different things. A village named in a master plan or notice does not mean every parcel there is acquired. Only the exact notification, with its khasra details and later records, shows what applies to your land.
| Stage | What it generally means |
|---|---|
| Master plan / proposal | Planned development; no ownership change |
| Survey / social impact assessment | Study of who is affected, before a formal notification |
| Preliminary notification | Formal notice that land is proposed for acquisition |
| Objections and hearing | Affected owners can place their concerns |
| Declaration | Government’s later statutory step confirming the acquisition |
| Award | Collector’s determination of compensation for specific land |
| Payment and possession | Compensation disbursed; land taken over |
The sequence and section numbers depend on the law and project. Read the notification itself and the Act on India Code (RFCTLARR Act, 2013). Our GMADA Mohali guide explains the planning side.
Check Your Village in the GMADA Acquisition Records
Entries below are titles seen in GMADA’s official notice listings (Official source: notifications listing and Official source: awards / project notices listing). Dates and numbers are left for you to read from the PDF.

| Bharonjia, Salamatpur Devinagar, Ratwara | Mega housing project (8.48 acres), Tehsil Kharar | Notification listed on the same page | Not confirmed |
Context from news (secondary, not official proof): The Tribune reported a Social Impact Assessment notification for the Eco City-4 project covering Kartarpur, Kansala, Rajgarh and Boothgarh villages, and said the Aerotropolis Blocks E to J had reached a declaration stage. Check GMADA’s own pages for the actual notices.
Villages appearing in more than one project (for example Siaun and Manauli) have separate records; do not mix them. This is not a complete list of every GMADA acquisition.
Records We Could Not Verify
We looked for Nadiayali, Manakpur Kalar, Matra, Molibaidwan, Isa Khan and Chhat/Chatt but could not trace an official GMADA record for them in our search. This does not mean they are unaffected. Check GMADA’s notifications page and Land Owners section directly. Also note that a notice for Karala (Aerotropolis Extension) has been described on a non-government site; we have not confirmed it on GMADA’s own site.
We can help you organise the records to match.

How to Check Whether Your Land Is Affected
- Note village, tehsil and district.
- Collect khasra numbers from your jamabandi and revenue records.
- Search GMADA’s notifications and Land Owners pages.
- Open the original PDF; use Ctrl+F for your village and khasra.
- Match village, project, khasra and area.
- Look for later records: corrigenda, declarations, awards.
- If unclear, ask the Land Acquisition Collector or GMADA in writing and keep the acknowledgement.
Village-level mention is not parcel-level confirmation. Only the khasra match counts.
How to Read an Acquisition Notification
Look for four things: the project name, the legal section cited, the village and khasra list, and the date. Then check whether the document is a preliminary notice, a declaration, or an award. Spelling of village names can vary between documents, so search two or three spellings.
How Is Compensation Determined?
Under the 2013 Act, compensation is based on a market-value determination plus statutory additions, and depends on the specific acquisition, land category and the Collector’s award. There is no single rate for Mohali or any village. Any figure from one award is a project-specific, historical example, not a rate for your land.
Please do not rely on forwarded “per acre” numbers. Read your own award. For a feel of scale only, news reports mention a large total award for Eco City-3; that total is not a per-acre rate.
Awards and What If Compensation Is Pending
An award names owners, land and compensation. Check your name, share, khasra, area and amount. If something is wrong, write to the competent authority with documents. If payment is pending, review the award and payment letters, confirm co-owner and legal-heir papers are complete, contact the Land Acquisition Collector, keep written acknowledgements, and take legal advice if there is a dispute. We cannot promise any timeline.
Land Pooling vs Cash Compensation
GMADA’s Land Owners menu lists a Land Pooling Scheme, and public notices mention pooling for Eco City and Aerotropolis. Under pooling, owners may receive developed plots instead of money. Eligibility, plot sizes and last dates are set per project, and corrigenda have been issued, so read the latest notice. Pooling is not automatically open to every affected owner.
Objections and Legal Remedies
Whether you can object, and by when, depends on the stage and the section of the notice. Deadlines can be short. Read the notification, note the dates, and consult a land-acquisition lawyer promptly if limitation or litigation may be involved.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check if my village is in GMADA acquisition?
Search GMADA’s notifications and Land Owners pages, open the original PDF, and match village and khasra.
Does a master plan mention mean my land is acquired?
No. A master plan is a planning document. Acquisition needs its own notification and later stages.
What is the difference between notification and award?
A notification proposes or confirms acquisition; an award determines compensation for specific land.
How is compensation calculated?
Under the 2013 Act, by market-value determination plus statutory additions, as stated in your award.
Where is the GMADA award list?
GMADA’s notice listings carry award records; see the links in the tracker.
My land is listed but I got no notice. What now?
Write to the Land Acquisition Collector, ask for the notice copy and keep proof of the request.
Details in the notice are wrong. What to do?
Submit a written representation with revenue records and seek legal advice early.
Can I object to acquisition?
Remedies depend on the stage and deadlines in the notice. Act quickly.
Is land pooling available instead of compensation?
Only where a project’s pooling notice allows it, and subject to its conditions.
Does everyone get the same compensation?
No. It depends on the award, land category and evidence for each parcel.
Is a notice old or still active?
Check for later notifications, corrigenda and awards. Ask GMADA to confirm the current status.
Whom do I contact for official confirmation?
The Land Acquisition Collector or GMADA; GMADA lists helpdesk@gmada.gov.in on its site.
Unsure Whether Your Land Is Included in a GMADA Acquisition?
Apni land ka status sirf village name se assume mat kijiye. Relevant notification, khasra details aur latest official records ko match karna zaroori hai. Royals can help you organise public information. This is not official verification or a legal opinion, and final confirmation must come from the competent authority.
